Your Support at Christmas Will Keep Women and Children Safe 365 Days a Year
We want to offer a special word of thanks to people across Meath for supporting our recent Christmas Appeal.
Every year we see a surge in calls for help after Christmas and into January. It can be a really difficult time of year for families where there is violence or abuse at home. Feelings of isolation are often heightened during the Christmas period and January can be a tipping point for many women who were trying to keep things together for Christmas.
The donations and support we receive here in Meath Women’s Refuge & Support Services are critical for us to maintain our services throughout the year for the women who need us.
While we receive core funding from the State, we need to raise money every year to pay for heating, electricity and maintenance of our building, as well as pay for additional supports like vouchers for food, new toys for children, food for our refuge facility, counselling for women and play and music therapy for children.
Thank you for your continued support.
